Building Diagnostics Group has the expertise to perform a wide range of aerial construction photography and inspection services, in Alpharetta, Georgia and nationwide, and can handle any size project.
Building Diagnostics Group (BDG) specializes in aerial thermography and the non-destructive detection, investigation, and resolution of water intrusions on multi-family, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings throughout the nation. Our state-of-the-art technology and skilled team of professional thermographers combine to produce work of the highest quality.
How Aerial Thermal Imaging Works
Small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are small, remotely piloted aircraft, also known as commercial drones. They can be equipped with infrared cameras to assist in applications that would be difficult for a normal manned aircraft with limited maneuverability.
Thermal imaging uses the infrared radiation emitted by all objects to detect temperature variations between the object and its surroundings. The radiation is converted into visible high-resolution images that make it possible to “see” the variations in temperature with or without visible illumination.
At BDG, we are FAA Authorized Commercial Drone Remote Pilots with a current inventory of DJI Inspire and Matrice drones specially equipped with high-resolution FLIR camera systems. The aircraft feature a Zenmuse XT 640×512 resolution radiometric infrared camera that is capable of producing high-resolution images and video.
Aerial Construction Photography
Construction projects are complicated, time-consuming and resource-intensive. Aerial construction photography is a faster way of documenting overall progress on a construction site in real-time and identifying any parts of the project that are going off-track.
UAVs have the ability to perform inspections in dangerous areas without putting anyone at risk. They can help you monitor multiple jobsites without having to constantly shuttle from one site to another. They can provide you with adequate site documentation in the event of litigation. And the imagery can make investors and clients feel a part of the construction process, even when they are miles away.
The aerial data BDG collects is also beneficial in property management and maintenance, providing potential investors and owners with visual data about a building’s condition. We can also detect heat leaks in a building envelope or along a long run of underground utility piping.
